Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Ward Manager (Band 6) to lead nursing services in the Stroke HASU, with 37.5 hours per week. The role is for internal NCIC applicants, with a strong leadership trajectory and commitment to high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will support the Ward Manager, work within a multidisciplinary team, and uphold best practices in a busy, specialist stroke environment. Closing date is 30 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse, with active registration.
• Relevant training at level 2 or equivalent.
• NST 307 or equivalent.
• Band 6 leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing and midwifery services to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Support ward manager with MDT collaboration and leadership.
• Ensure safe delivery of evidence-based patient care.
• Manage patient flows and resources within the ward.
