Job summary

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 3 Instrument Co-ordinator to support the Theatre Team at Worcester Royal Hospital. You will coordinate surgical instruments and implants, track stock, and liaise with sterile services and procurement to minimise delays and ensure equipment is available for procedures.

The role covers cross-site instrument management across theatres and requires good attention to detail and organisational skills to support safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment.
• Evidence of relevant training or willingness to undertake further development.
• Basic IT skills including data entry.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage surgical instruments and implants across theatres countywide.
• Track, order, and replace instruments and coordinate transport between sites.
• Maintain accurate inventory and repair records.
• Ensure instrument sets are complete, functional, and available on time.
• Liaise with sterile services, procurement, and clinical staff to minimise delays.
