Job summary

The Harbour Hospital in Poole is seeking an Instrument Coordinator to join the Theatre department. This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern.

You will oversee preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with decontamination services and external hospitals where required to support timely theatre schedules. Qualifications

• Experience working within a theatre environment or clinical support role.
• Strong organisational skills to prioritise workload in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic understanding of infection control, instrument handling and decontamination processes.
• Good communication and teamworking skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with decontamination services and external hospitals.
• Ensure instruments are clean, functional and delivered to correct locations to meet theatre schedules.
• Assist in ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, aligned with procurement policies.
• Support theatre team in delivering seamless surgical services, improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement, and external providers for clarity and continuity of equipment and stock.
• Ensure instrumentation handling complies with hospital policies, infection prevention and regulatory guidelines.
