You will work with instrumentation, data acquisition hardware and units under test across the lifecycle, with occasional UK and international travel. The role emphasizes maintainable code, integration and verification in collaboration with systems, hardware, electrical, mechanical and project engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in software engineering, computer science, electronics or related discipline.
• Experience developing software for engineering or equipment-based applications.
• Proficiency in at least one language/environment such as C/C++, C#, LabVIEW, TestStand or Python.
• Understanding of software architecture and structured design; ability to debug and test in engineering contexts.
• Familiarity with source control, configuration management and software test evidence.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and controlled release processes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to travel within the UK and internationally.

Responsabilités

• Analyse system and software requirements and contribute to architecture and design.
• Produce maintainable, documented code and develop test sequences, operator interfaces and reports.
• Integrate software with instrumentation, data-acquisition hardware and interfaces.
• Reuse and modify frameworks for existing test systems and legacy software.
• Participate in the full lifecycle from requirements to commissioning and support.
• Contribute to plans, specifications and traceability across requirements and implementation.
