Job summary

Averna powered by Spherea is seeking an engineering software professional to build software for test, measurement, simulation and control systems. You will interact with instrumentation and data acquisition hardware, support test sequences, diagnostics and traceable evidence across the lifecycle with engineers from multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in software/engineering related field and background in engineering software.
• Experience developing software for engineering, industrial or equipment-based apps.
• Practical experience with languages/environments such as C/C++, LabVIEW, TestStand or Python.
• Understanding of software architecture and structured design, plus debugging and testing in engineering settings.
• Familiarity with source control, configuration management and documentation.
• Knowledge of the full development lifecycle from requirements to release.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and contribute to architecture and design for automated test, measurement, simulation and control software.
• Produce well-documented code and develop test sequences, interfaces, data processing and reports.
• Integrate software with instrumentation and hardware; implement error handling, logging and access controls.
• Reuse frameworks and extend software for existing test systems and legacy platforms.
• Participate in full lifecycle from feasibility to commissioning and support.
• Prepare plans, specifications and test evidence with traceability to requirements.
• Estimate effort, manage risks and contribute to project plans and customer proposals.
• Apply source control and release management; support safety, cybersecurity and compliance activities.
• Define and execute unit/integration/system tests; debug in lab and production environments.
