Job summary

AB Agri is seeking an Area Business Manager to drive growth in Shropshire’s dairy sector. You will spend substantial time on farms, building trusted advisory relationships and promoting data-driven services across AB Agri’s portfolio.

The role is permanent, full-time with a salary circa £36,937.59 per year, plus a company car/van and a strong bonus scheme. Travel across the territory is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated sales/commercial account management experience in agriculture/dairy.
• Solid knowledge of the dairy industry to build trust quickly with farmers.
• A consultative selling style focused on customer needs and long-term relationships.
• Good administrative discipline, including CRM usage and follow-up management.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of existing farm customers with regular on-farm visits for retention and growth.
• Build new business by prospecting non-customers and maintaining a robust pipeline.
• Promote the full NMR service portfolio (milk recording, disease testing, genomics).
• Help customers interpret data to improve herd performance and decision-making.
• Act as main point of contact for queries, coordinating with service teams to maintain high standards.
• Support onboarding of new farms and represent AB Agri at industry events.
