Job summary

AB Agri (NMR) is seeking an Area Business Manager for Cornwall and South Devon, UK. The role is field-based, requiring extensive travel to farms to maintain relationships, promote dairy data services, and grow the customer base.

A 12-month fixed-term contract with 37 hours per week, salary £36,937.59 plus company car/van and a strong bonus scheme. You will manage declining and new customer accounts, visit farms, and collaborate with service teams to ensure high standards and continued growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or account management in agriculture/dairy.
• Knowledge of the dairy industry and ability to build trust with farmers.
• Professional, consultative selling style focused on customer needs and long-term relationships.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within territory.
• Home-based, territory-led role with self-managed diary and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio of farm customers with regular on-farm visits for retention and value.
• Develop pipeline by prospecting non-customers and planning field activity.
• Promote the full NMR service portfolio (milk recording, disease testing, genomic services).
• Help customers interpret data to improve herd performance and decision-making.
• Be main contact for customer queries, coordinating with service teams.
• Support onboarding of new farms and smooth transitions into NMR services.
• Build local presence by attending events and farm activities; join industry groups.
• Collaborate with partners to deliver joined-up customer solutions and keep CRM up to date.
