Job summary

Sense College Knapwell is seeking reliable Support Workers to assist young adults with complex disabilities. You will provide person-centred support, help learners participate in educational activities, and promote independence.

Role is fixed-term, part-time (39 weeks per year, term-time) with shifts 9:15am–4:15pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime may be available; travel arrangements are essential as there is no public transport serving the site.

Qualifications

• Caring and reliable individual to support learners with complex needs.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Adapt communication style to learners and use suitable communication methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to young adults with disabilities.
• Support learners in educational activities and independence.
• Encourage choices, confidence and active participation in daily life.
• Support learners with personal care, mobility and wellbeing as required.
• Develop communication skills using BSL or other methods as needed.
