Job summary

Peterborough Regional College is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Worker to join our dedicated Additional Learning Support team. You will provide personalised support to students with learning difficulties, disabilities and EHCPs, helping them develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed both in education and beyond.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates patience and a proactive approach to supporting learners.
• Excellent communication with students, colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with learners.

Responsibilities

• Support students in lessons by adapting activities to aid understanding.
• Encourage engagement and positive participation in learning.
• Deliver tailored support in line with EHCP outcomes and risk assessments.
• Help learners develop independence, confidence and self-esteem.
• Support literacy, numeracy and study skills including note-taking and organisation.
• Promote effective use of assistive technology and learning resources.
• Monitor and record student progress and contribute to reviews.
• Provide exam support as reader, scribe, or invigilator when required.
• Accompany students on educational visits and work placements as needed.
• Provide physical and mobility support where appropriate.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and families to ensure positive outcomes.
