Job summary

Randstad Education Swindon is seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11-16 in a welcoming secondary school setting. You will work in lessons, assist students with SEN needs, and help maintain an inclusive, positive learning environment.

The role offers a consistent 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM schedule during term time, with a competitive daily rate (£92.56–£95.00) and opportunities for professional development. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in schools, youth work, sports coaching, or care settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patience and adaptability.
• Proactive, friendly and reliable approach to support student learning.
• An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Support individual students or small groups in lessons to access the curriculum.
• Assist pupils with SEN, adapting tasks and resources for inclusivity.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment throughout the day.
• Build relationships to boost confidence, motivation and engagement.
• Collaborate with class teachers and SENDCo to monitor and report progress.
