Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Swindon. Help students aged 11-16 access the curriculum and develop confidence in class, with DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.

The role offers a consistent 8:30 AM–3:30 PM schedule, term-time, and a competitive daily rate. You will work with teachers and the SENDCo to monitor progress and support inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in schools, youth work, sports coaching, or care settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patience and adaptability.
• Proactive, friendly and reliable approach with desire to make a difference in young people's lives.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Support individual students or small groups in lessons to help them access the curriculum.
• Assist pupils with additional learning needs (SEN), adapting tasks and resources for inclusivity.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment throughout the school day.
• Build strong relationships with students to boost confidence, motivation, and engagement.
• Collaborate with class teachers and SENDCo to monitor and report progress.
