Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking an Assistant Cook to bring our school menus to life, delivering healthy meals for students and staff during term time. You’ll help ensure high-quality food service and positive experiences in a school environment.

This role is Monday–Friday during school terms (27.5 hours/week, 38 weeks/year) at £13.60/hour. Training on health and safety will be provided; a DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of education catering
• Proven experience working with fresh ingredients
• Excellent working knowledge of health and safety practices

Responsibilities

• Creative Menu Execution: preparing provided menus with craft skills.
• Safety Champion: ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Allergen, and Health & Safety.
• Hospitality Production: assist with high-quality hospitality for events.
• Building Connections: develop relationships with school clients and students.
• Service with a Smile: provide friendly, polite customer service.
