Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team, supporting basic food prep and delivering friendly service during lunchtimes in schools. This role focuses on teamwork, efficiency, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

You will work Monday to Friday during school term time, 10 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, earning £12.71 per hour. Full training is provided for duties including till service.

Qualifications

• Team player with ability to work in a busy school-catering environment.
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is beneficial but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: operate tills during service with training provided.
• Front‑Line Service: deliver friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Essential Support: assist the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: keep a safe, clean kitchen and comply with health & safety.
