Job summary

Essex County Council is recruiting a School Crossing Patrol Officer at Parkwood Academy, Melbourne Ave, Chelmsford. The role is permanent, term time, with a 7.5 hour weekly schedule across mornings and afternoons during the school year. A uniform, equipment and training are provided, and a DBS check may be required.

The ideal candidate will be punctual, reliable and enjoy engaging with the public. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Must be punctual, reliable and comfortable engaging with the public.
• Current, unrestricted right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available).
• Ability to work mornings and afternoons as per school schedule (term-time).

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and its surroundings.
• Give clear signals to drivers and stop traffic as required.
• Maintain crossing point, wear and use provided uniform and equipment.
• Report problems or defects to the supervisor and assist in incident reporting.
