Essex County Council is seeking a School Crossing Patrol Officer for Parkwood Academy, Melbourne Ave, Chelmsford. This permanent, term-time role provides safety supervision at the school crossing for families.

You will work 7.5 hours per week across the 39 weeks of the academic year, with set morning and afternoon shifts. Uniform, equipment and training are provided to support a reliable service.

Qualifications

• Punctual and reliable individual who engages with the public.
• Willing to work mornings and afternoons as required.

Responsabilités

• Have regard for the needs of pedestrians, especially those with mobility impairments.
• Maintain contact with the schools attended by children using the crossing.
• Assess risks at the crossing site and report issues to supervisor.
• Assist in preparing reports on accidents and incidents at the crossing site.
• Ensure uniform and equipment are maintained and replacements requested when needed.
• Give clear signals to drivers to stop traffic and ensure pedestrians cross safely.
