Job summary

The South Hampshire College Group (SHCG) is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer for term-time work (40 weeks). You will triage and support students with safeguarding, mental health and vulnerabilities, coordinating with external agencies and families to ensure wellbeing and safety.

Responsibilities include managing caseloads, delivering interventions, attending multi-agency meetings and maintaining thorough records.

Qualifications

• Experience safeguarding processes and procedures.
• Experience supporting children and vulnerable adults with challenging circumstances.
• Experience working with external agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assess students with safeguarding, mental health and other vulnerabilities and refer as needed.
• Support individual students on safeguarding concerns on a one-to-one basis.
• Develop and deliver interventions, liaising with external agencies, parents and carers.
• Support students' health and wellbeing by organising external events and enriching activities.
• Liaise with internal and external services to support at-risk students and ensure meetings and updates.
• Support transition of vulnerable students into the college with the team.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and maintain records per college procedures.
• Attend multi-agency meetings and ensure follow-up actions.
• Maintain professional development and up-to-date knowledge.
• Manage caseloads and document cases to monitor team performance.
