Job summary

Roundwood Primary School is seeking a dedicated KS2 1:1 Support Assistant to provide tailored support for a pupil, promoting academic progress and emotional well‑being. The role involves collaborating with the class teacher and staff to create a calm, inclusive learning space that caters to the pupil’s individual needs and sensory requirements.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with additional needs, and will contribute to safeguarding and promoting pupil

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs.
• Understanding of strategies to support attention, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Patient, calm, nurturing and adaptable with ability to build positive relationships.
• Ability to provide a consistent, structured approach while responding to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil, helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff to create a calm, structured, nurturing environment.
• Use a patient, flexible approach with understanding of emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Support planning, preparation and delivery of accessible learning activities as directed by the class teacher.
