Roundwood Primary School in Buckinghamshire is seeking a dedicated 1:1 support assistant for a KS2 pupil, helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a calm, inclusive classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher and colleagues to plan accessible activities and sustain a patient, nurturing approach that supports transitions, focus and independence.

Competenze

• Experience supporting children with additional needs.

• Provide tailored 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil, helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally, while promoting independence and confidence.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff to create a calm, structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the pupil's individual learning, communication and sensory needs.
• Use a patient, flexible and consistent approach, with an understanding of emotional regulation, positive behaviour support and strategies to help the pupil manage transitions, maintain focus and engage successfully in learning.
• Support the planning, preparation and delivery of accessible learning activities as directed by the class teacher., The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child's confidence, independence and learning journey.
• Ongoing support and training opportunities to develop your skills in supporting children with additional needs.
• Has experience of supporting children with additional learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs, ideally within a KS2 setting.
• Has an understanding of strategies to support attention, emotional regulation, positive behaviour and successful engagement in learning.
• Is patient, calm, nurturing and adaptable, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Can provide a consistent, structured approach while responding sensitively to a child's individual needs.
• Works well as part of a small, supportive team and communicates effectively with teachers, staff and parents.
• Understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and promoting a child's wellbeing and independence.
