Job summary

Ysgol Yr Esgob Church in Wales School is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our learning support team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality interventions, supporting pupils to reach their potential, and promoting wellbeing within a nurturing Christian environment.

Hours are 26.25 per week, term-time only with training days, and the contract is part-time permanent. The school values inclusion, safeguarding, and collaborative working with staff and families.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent experience.
• Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a primary setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess, monitor and record pupil progress.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to supporting the Christian ethos and values of the school.

Responsibilities

• Assess pupils' needs and provide targeted learning support.
• Build positive relationships and promote high expectations in learning.
• Lead interventions and support pupils' personal development.
• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities under supervision and PPA cover.
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress and report outcomes.
• Support curriculum delivery and use ICT to enhance learning.
• Support Welsh language development where appropriate.
• Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion.
