Job summary

St Simon’s Catholic Primary School in Hazel Grove, Stockport, is seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support learning across key stages. The role involves delivering lessons, providing PPA cover, and supporting pupils including those with SEND, within a Catholic ethos.

This permanent post is 35 hours per week, term-time only, with a start date in November 2026 and an application deadline of Friday 23 October 2026.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or Level 4+ qualification, or a degree with classroom experience.
• High standards of literacy, numeracy, and strong classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons and interventions across key stages.
• Provide PPA cover and teach during short-term absences.

• Assess, track and report pupil progress.
• Model positive behaviour and nurture pupils' spiritual and personal growth.
