Job summary

The Queen’s School is seeking a Senior and Lower School Drum Teacher to deliver engaging weekly drum lessons during term time. The role is self‑employed and focuses on developing pupils' technical ability, musical understanding, and confidence in performance.

You will teach pupils from primary through Key Stage 3, preparing advanced students for GCSE and A Level recitals and exams, monitor progress, and support examination entries in liaison with the Head of Music.

Qualifications

• Music degree is essential, specialist performance degree desirable.
• Experience teaching pupils from primary through Key Stage 3 and preparing for GCSE/A Level examinations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly drum lessons (half-hour, individual or paired).
• Monitor pupil progress and maintain attendance records.
• Support examination entries in liaison with Head of Music.
• Provide one annual report and attend parents’ evening.
• Promote ensembles and extracurricular instrumental activity.
