Job summary

The Queen’s School seeks a Senior and Lower School Drum Teacher on a self-employed basis to deliver weekly half-hour lessons (individual or paired) during term time.

You will require a music degree (specialist performance degree desirable) with strong drumming expertise and experience teaching pupils from primary through Key Stage 3, including GCSE/A Level preparation. You will foster ensembles and promote instrumental study across the school.

Qualifications

• A music degree is essential (specialist performance degree desirable).
• Experience teaching pupils from primary through Key Stage 3 and preparing for GCSE/A Level recitals.
• Strong drumming expertise and ability to foster confidence in performance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly half-hour drum lessons (individual or paired) during term time.
• Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate attendance records.
• Support examination entries in liaison with the Head of Music.
• Provide at least one annual report and attend parents’ evenings.
• Promote participation in ensembles, concerts and extra-curricular activities.
