Job summary

ST ELIZABETH'S CENTRE in Much Hadham is seeking an experienced Chef for a term-time only role. You will prepare and serve nutritious, well-balanced meals for children, young people and staff, combining culinary skill with nutrition, allergen awareness and dietary requirements.

Join a supportive Catering Team and help run the kitchen day-to-day, provide guidance to team members, deputise for the Chef Manager, and maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and HACCP while ensuring the kitchen

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef with large-scale catering.
• Knowledge of nutrition, allergens and modified diets.
• Strong food safety, hygiene and HACCP understanding.
• Excellent organisation and teamwork; able to work under pressure.
• Relevant Level 2 qualification in Food Preparation and Food Safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for children, young adults, staff and visitors.
• Support menu planning, stock control and day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Provide guidance to Catering Team and deputise for the Chef Manager.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Ensure kitchen is clean, safe, organised and compliant with regulations.
