Job summary

Caterlink is seeking an Assistant Chef/Cook for Hayes College to ensure nutritious, balanced meals for students. You will assist in planning, preparing and cooking meals to the required standard, briefing kitchen teams and upholding food safety and HACCP requirements.

This role emphasises high customer service and excellent food quality. The position is term-time only, 35 hours per week, with a £14.50 per hour rate, offering a structured development path and supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Teamwork, communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Level 2 Food Safety in Catering and Level 2 Health & Safety qualifications are required.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and HACCP principles is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, preparing and cooking meals to required standard.
• Brief kitchen teams on menus and service and ensure food safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain high food hygiene and health & safety standards in a school catering environment.
