Job summary

Caterlink is hiring a Chef Manager for Outwood Ormesby, Middlesbrough. This term-time position (38 weeks/year) runs Monday–Friday, 40 hours weekly, at £18 per hour. You will lead the on-site kitchen, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards at the school.

You will manage inventories, budgets, and client relationships, delivering high-quality meals and service while driving improvements and training staff to excel in their roles.

Qualifications

• Experience leading catering operations in schools or similar environments.
• Ability to supervise and train teams, manage inventories and budgets.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong communication with clients and stakeholders to meet expectations.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, nutritious meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure site compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Lead day-to-day site operations, including budgeting and inventory control.
• Act as main client contact in the school and drive improvements.
• Support and train teams, monitor KPIs and performance.
