Job summary

Caterlink is seeking a Chef Manager for a primary school site in Ascot to deliver nutritionally balanced, tasty meals during term-time. The role covers day-to-day running, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and food standards.

The position offers 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during 38 weeks per year, with a pay rate of £13.52 per hour. This is a term-time, school-based opportunity suitable for flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in catering or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience in school catering is advantageous.
• DBS check will be required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure location meets Health, Food Safety and environmental laws and procedures.
• Maintain Caterlink’s reputation for quality food and service with client and customers.
• Oversee day-to-day running, supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets, and implement action plans.
• Act as main client contact at the school, implementing adjustments and improvements.
• Report KPIs and financial targets to line manager and strive to meet them.
• Lead, train and develop teams to ensure high performance and training compliance.
