Job summary

The Catch-Up Academy is seeking an In-Person Tutor to support children and young people unable to attend school due to SEN, SEMH, or mental health challenges. You will deliver 1:1 sessions during school hours and work in homes or community settings to help students re-engage with learning.

Ideal candidates will have tutoring or teaching experience, strong communication, and safeguarding awareness. DBS or willingness to obtain one is essential, with transport often required for travel to student

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or teaching children, especially with SEN/SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one and safeguarding knowledge.
• Driving licence and access to transport often required for travel to student locations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition sessions during school hours (9:00–15:00, Mon–Fri).
• Support students who are out of school in homes or community settings.
• Cover key subjects (English, Maths, Science) with personalised teaching methods.
• Focus on rebuilding trust and engagement with learning, not just academics.
• Communicate with parents, schools and support professionals to track progress.
• Log student outcomes and feedback to support each learner's journey.
