Job summary

The Catch-Up Academy is seeking an In-Person Tutor to support children and young people who are unable to attend school due to SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs. You will deliver 1:1 tuition during term-time, typically 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in home or community settings, focusing on rebuilding confidence alongside core subjects.

Ideal candidates have tutoring or teaching experience with challenging learners, strong communication, and DBS clearance (enhanced).

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or teaching children, especially with SEN/SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Able to work independently and manage a flexible timetable.
• Strong communication and ability to build rapport with challenged learners.
• Resilience, creativity and patience in supporting each student.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition sessions during school hours (9:00–15:00, Mon–Fri).
• Work with students who are out of school, often in homes or community settings.
• Support learners across key subjects, using personalised teaching methods.
• Focus on rebuilding engagement with learning, not just academics.
• Communicate with parents, schools and professionals to track progress.
• Log student outcomes and feedback to support each learner’s journey.
