Job summary

The Catch-Up Academy is hiring an In-Person Tutor to support children and young people who are unable to attend school due to SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs. You will provide 1:1 sessions during school hours (9:00–15:00), often visiting homes or community settings, and tailor sessions to rebuild confidence in learning.

You’ll work with English, Maths, and Science, using creative methods, while maintaining strong communication with parents and schools to track progress.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or teaching children, especially with SEN/SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Able to work independently and manage a flexible timetable.
• Strong communication to build rapport with learners and parents.
• Patience, creativity, and resilience for diverse learners.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and safeguarding knowledge essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition sessions during school hours (9:00–15:00, Mon–Fri).
• Tutor students at home or in community settings.
• Support English, Maths, and Science with personalised methods.
• Focus on rebuilding engagement with learning and confidence.
• Communicate with parents, schools, and support professionals; log progress.
• Track outcomes to support each learner’s journey.
