First Military Recruitment is recruiting a Methods Engineer for a Swindon-based role with a salary of £50,000 - £65,000 plus a £5,750 car allowance. The position offers Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, and extensive benefits including pension and private medical insurance.

The role focuses on tender analysis, planning, and bid documentation within a civil/construction context. The successful candidate will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, manage risk plans, and support pre-bid

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of civil engineering and construction techniques.
• Awareness of relevant procurement legislation.
• Commercial awareness of different forms of contract.
• Governance and procedural requirements for work winning.

Responsibilities

• Analyse tender documents, specifications, and related technical data.
• Prepare technical proposals and work plans, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project management and business development to ensure client requirements.
• Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgeting forecasts.
• Identify potential technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.
• Assist in formulation of project execution plans for underground works.
• Coordinate with geotechnical engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors.
• Provide technical support during pre-bid meetings and client presentations.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders during tendering.
• Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial bid documents.
• Maintain records of all tender preparation activities and decisions.
• Report on project progress, issues, and risk management plans.
