Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Temporary Works Lead to join their team on the HS2 project. The ideal candidate will have a background in temporary works management within the rail sector, preferably holding a relevant engineering degree and chartered status. Responsibilities include acting as the main contact between designers and site teams, monitoring project resource requirements, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance and health and safety standards. This role is on-site and requires strong team management skills.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer with a relevant engineering degree is preferred.
  • Experience in Temporary Works Management within the rail sector.
  • Ability to lead teams in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Position: Temporary Works Lead
Location: Birmingham
Duration: 6 months+
Start date: ASAP
Working Arrangements: On-site

The People Group is looking to recruit a Temporary Works Lead from a main contractor background to work on HS2 for the Main joint Venture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact between the Temporary Works designers and the site team.
  • Analyse and forecast temporary works (TW) design resource requirements for the project.
  • Develop, implement and monitor temporary works procedures.
  • Review and approve the temporary work design brief to continue to meet site requirements.
  • Implement performance monitoring, quality assurance, and ongoing reporting on TW design delivery.
  • Chair design coordination meetings to ensure the efficient allocation of design resources and delivery of high-quality work.
  • Drive competence and appointment assessments in line with SQEP and CDM requirements.
  • Develop robust processes for risk management, ensuring the golden thread of risk mitigation is maintained throughout.
  • Stay abreast of health and safety updates, integrating best practices into TW design and delivery.
Qualifications
  • Shall preferably be a Chartered Engineer (preferably MICE), and have a relevant engineering degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent).
  • Experience working within the rail sector in a Temporary Works Management role.
  • Ability to manage teams in a multi-disciplinary environment.
