Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will produce temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework, reporting to a Design Team Leader.

The role suits an engineer with a few years post graduate experience in structures or geotechnical design, with a strong understanding of temporary works. The floor is yours to fulfil your potential and drive projects forward.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in civil/structural engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience designing temporary works.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience designing Formwork & Falsework.
• Good understanding of CDM 2015.
• Experience using AutoCAD 2D and/or REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Design temporary works for groundworks and building refurbishment propping (e.g. geotechnical design of sheet pile cofferdams and/or propping and needling).
• Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and eventually other product schemes.
• Checking designs and drawings in accordance with BS5975:2019.
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
• Review design briefs provided by the sales team through Launchpad and provide feedback if more information is required.
• Managing your own workload.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.
