Job summary

Mabey Hire in Glasgow is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Design Team Leader, you will produce temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework, following BS5975:2019 guidelines.

The role suits an engineer with a few years post graduate experience in civil/structural design and a sound understanding of temporary works. You will collaborate with sales and operations to deliver engineering excellence and support site teams on

Qualifications

• A HND or degree in civil/structural engineering.
• At least 3 years experience designing temporary works.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
• Experience designing Formwork & Falsework.
• Good understanding of CDM 2015.
• Experience utilizing AutoCAD 2D and/or REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Experience of designing temporary works for groundworks and/or building refurbishment propping (e.g. geotechnical design of sheet pile cofferdams).
• Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and other product schemes.
• Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2019.
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
• Review design briefs from the sales team and provide feedback.
• Managing your own workload and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
