Job summary

Concept Resources is recruiting a reliable School Catering Assistant to work in a primary school in Burgess Hill. This temporary role is part-time, school-hours, 10:00am–2:00pm, starting immediately and lasting until the end of October 2026.

You will support the catering team with meal preparation and service for pupils and staff, help maintain high standards of food hygiene, set up and clear the dining area, wash utensils, and follow all safety procedures in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Assist with preparation of school meals.
• Send meals to pupils and staff and maintain dining area.
• Follow food safety and health & safety procedures.
• Support the catering team as required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of food and school meals.
• Serving meals to pupils and staff.
• Setting up and clearing down the dining area.
• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Cleaning kitchen surfaces and food preparation areas.
• Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene.
• Supporting the wider catering team as required.
• Following all food safety and health & safety procedures.
