Job summary

Concept Resources is recruiting a reliable School Catering Assistant for a primary school in Burgess Hill. The role is part-time, school-hours only (10:00am–2:00pm), with an immediate start and temporary cover until 18 September 2026.

You will support the catering team with meal preparation and service, ensuring safe, efficient operations and high standards of hygiene in a school environment.

Qualifications

• Reliable and dependable in a school kitchen environment.
• Awareness of food hygiene and safety procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a catering team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of food and school meals.
• Serve meals to pupils and staff.
• Set up and clear dining area after service.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Clean kitchen surfaces and food preparation areas; maintain high hygiene standards.
• Support the wider catering team as required.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures.
