Adecco is seeking a Sales Order Processor in Chelmsford to join our client’s Sales Support team. The role focuses on accurate order processing, proactive customer service, and efficient communication from order through delivery.

The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure orders are tracked and fulfilled smoothly. This temporary-to-permanent position offers varied responsibilities and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in order processing, customer service or sales administration.
• Strong communication with professional and friendly approach.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process customer purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Manage customer enquiries via email, telephone, Zendesk and live chat.
• Track orders from placement through to delivery and provide regular updates.
• Check stock availability, pricing, and delivery timescales.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries.
• Monitor online orders and ensure successful system integration.
• Investigate and resolve order processing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate customer and order records across multiple systems.
• Support customers with order progress enquiries and aftersales queries.
• Conduct follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist with sales campaigns, customer outreach, and general administration.
• Escalate complex issues to the relevant team when required.
