Job summary

Longacres Garden Centre is seeking a friendly Christmas Assistant to join our team this festive season. You will help customers choose trees, maintain displays, replenish stock, and support shop floor teams across departments.

Part-time temporary contract 01/11/2026 – 20/12/2026, 22.5 hours per week, with weekday and weekend shifts. Free onsite parking and training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and approachable.
• Physically fit for shop floor tasks.
• Experience in fast-paced retail is a plus.
• Willingness to develop skills during the season.

Responsibilities

• Maintain displays to a high standard.
• Unpack and price stock.
• Organise stock for replenishment.
• Operate till and assist customers with enquiries.
• Net real Christmas trees and help customers choose.

This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same, with the opportunity to work across different departments throughout the Christmas period. From helping customers choose their perfect Christmas tree to keeping displays looking their best, replenishing stock and supporting our shop floor teams, you’ll play an important part in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our customers during one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Ensure displays are maintained to a high standard

Unpack and price stock

Organise stock in preparation for replenishment

Till operation

Netting of real Christmas Trees

Help and assist customers selecting their Christmas tree

You will look smart and presentable with excellent verbal and written communication;

Assisting various departments throughout the Christmas period.od.
