Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Technical Coordinator for a Barnsley-based role in the structural steelwork sector. You will coordinate drawing office activities, manage resources, and ensure timely BIM models and construction drawings align with fabrication and site delivery needs.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in structural steelwork, solid Tekla Structures experience, and strong BIM coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steelwork.
• Experience coordinating drawing office activities and technical teams.
• Strong understanding of BIM processes and design coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review client design information and drawings to ensure accurate structural modelling and raise RFIs when needed.
• Coordinate drawing office activities and manage drafting resources.
• Oversee design changes, variations and technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure BIM deliverables meet required standards.
• Manage external sub-contractors and their technical contributions.
• Work with Project Managers to set phasing, lotting, and delivery priorities.
• Monitor schedules to meet production and site delivery dates.
• Attend design and progress meetings and issue weekly reports.
• Balance project demands with quality, accuracy and deadlines.
