Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking an experienced Technical Coordinator to join the Drawing Office on a range of steel projects. You will manage technical and drawing activity, coordinate with Project Managers, clients, and subcontractors to keep programmes on track and compliant.

The role requires extensive experience with structural steel detailing, Tekla Structures, and BIM processes, with strong communication and organisational skills to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steelwork.
• Minimum 5 years' experience using Tekla Structures.
• Strong knowledge of steel detailing and BIM processes.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience coordinating technical teams and external suppliers.
• Construction-related qualification helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawing office activities across multiple projects.
• Review design drawings and raise technical queries (RFIs).
• Manage design changes and project variations.
• Oversee BIM requirements and project compliance.
• Coordinate external detailing and subcontract resources.
• Liaise with Project Managers on fabrication and erection programmes.
• Attend client design team meetings and internal project reviews.
• Monitor project progress and issue regular updates.
