Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is sourcing an experienced Technical Coordinator for a well-established structural steelwork business in Barnsley. You will coordinate drawing office activities, manage resources, and ensure BIM models and drawings are delivered to programme requirements.

You will need at least 5 years in structural steelwork and Tekla Structures proficiency, with strong BIM knowledge and excellent organisational, communication and prioritisation skills.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience within the structural steelwork industry.
• Minimum 5 years' experience using Tekla Structures.
• Experience coordinating drawing office activities and technical teams.
• Strong understanding of BIM processes and design coordination.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication with clients, project teams and subcontractors.
• BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent construction qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawing office activities and manage internal/external drafting resources.
• Review client design information and ensure accurate structural modelling.
• Oversee design changes, variations and technical queries.
• Ensure BIM deliverables meet required standards for projects.
• Manage external subcontractors' technical contributions.
• Work with Project Managers on phasing, lotting and delivery priorities.
• Monitor schedules to meet production targets and site delivery dates.
• Attend design team and progress meetings; issue weekly reports.
