Responsibilities

• Review client design team drawings to ensure accurate structural modelling and raise RFIs where required.
• Identify and manage design changes, including raising variations through GMIS.
• Review project-specific BIM requirements and ensure all deliverables meet the required standards.
• Manage and coordinate external sub-trades and drafting resources.
• Liaise with Project Managers to establish project phasing and lotting sequences.
• Monitor planned fabrication drawing issues to ensure production hours and site delivery dates are achieved.
• Attend design team meetings, generally held online.
• Participate in internal project progress meetings.
• Prepare and issue weekly project progress reports.
• Work alongside the Drawing Office Manager to effectively manage internal and external project resources.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by management.

An established structural steelwork specialist with over 75 years of industry experience, designing, manufacturing and constructing structural steelwork for a wide range of clients and projects. Operating from facilities in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, the business has the capacity to process up to 50,000 tonnes of steel per annum and delivers projects throughout the UK and Europe. Its experienced workforce is capable of delivering everything from straightforward building frames to highly complex structural steel structures.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Coordinator to coordinate and manage Drawing Office activities across multiple projects. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of accurate BIM models and construction drawings, manage design changes and RFIs, and coordinate both internal and external drafting resources. The role is key to ensuring design information is delivered in line with project requirements, fabrication programmes and site erection schedules.
