Job summary

Abingdon & Witney College is seeking an enthusiastic Independent Living Skills Technician to join our SEND Support team. The role focuses on helping learners aged 16–25 with EHCPs develop practical life and employability skills, in college and community settings.

You will work with the Independent Living Skills Lecturer and SEND team to progress towards Preparation for Adulthood outcomes, promoting independence and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Holds a minimum Level 3 qualification.
• Has experience working with young people aged 16 to 25.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Is confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
• Can work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Holds a driving licence and can work flexibly across college campuses and within community settings.
• Is committed to inclusive practice and supporting learners with additional needs.

• Help learners prepare for the next stage of their lives, whether that is further education, employment or independent living.

Salary: £25,458 - £26,290per annum (pro-rata salary £21,115 - £21,805 per annum)

Hours per week: 37

Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 7 hours

Weeks per Annum: 38 weeks per annum (43.13 including holidays)

Location: Across Abingdon & Witney College campuses

Contract type: Permanent (term-time only)

Start date: October 2026
