Job summary

Wiltshire College & University Centre in Salisbury invites applications for a Specialist Support Coach. This full-time, permanent role offers 37 hours per week and a salary of £23,247 rising to £23,734 per year, with a generous benefits package.

You will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to learners with additional needs, helping them access English, Maths, attendance and progression in an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with additional needs in education, care, youth work, SEN support, or similar.
• Hold or be working towards a relevant Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Patient, empathetic and student-centred approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage learners with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to learners with additional needs, 1:1, small groups and in-class interventions.
• Support learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
• Manage a caseload focusing on attendance, study skills, English and Maths, engagement and progression.
• Contribute to EHCP outcomes and learner progression.
• Assist students in developing independence, confidence and life skills.
• Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning requirements.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure student success.
• Promote an inclusive, safe, and encouraging learning environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide tailored support to learners with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom
• You will provide tailored support through 1:1, small group and in-class interventions, supporting learners with a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties
• Manage a caseload of learners, supporting attendance, study skills, English and Maths, engagement and achievement
• Contribute to EHCP outcomes and support positive learner progression
• Assist students in developing independence, confidence, and essential life skills
• Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning requirements
• Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to ensure student success
• Promote an inclusive, safe, and encouraging learning environment
