Auto Skills UK is recruiting a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic in Bridgend. The role offers a base salary around £34,000 with earnings potential to £40,000+ through overtime and bonuses, plus a progression pathway in a busy, well‑established dealership.

You will diagnose faults, service and repair to manufacturer standards, using modern diagnostic equipment, while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• At least 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role.
• Strong servicing, repair and diagnostic skills.
• MOT Licence desirable but not essential.
• Own tools and toolbox.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work where required.
• Performing repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Completing all job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
• Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer and health & safety procedures.
• Working with the workshop team to maximise productivity and efficiency.
• Providing technical advice and delivering excellent customer service.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of workmanship while delivering outstanding customer satisfaction.

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs to manufacturer standards

About You

To be successful in this role you'll ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician or Car Mechanic
• Strong servicing, repair and diagnostic skills
• MOT Licence desirable but not essential
• Your own tools and toolbox
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
