Job summary

Derby Homes is seeking a Technician – Damp, Mould and Condensation to provide technical support to the maintenance team and assist the Principal Surveyor in analysing damp and mould data. Derby Homes are an organisation owned by Derby City Council. We manage and maintain approximately 12,500 properties in Derby, employing over 600 members of staff. The diverse workforce covers office basedand mobile workers includinghousing management teams, specialist support workersand a repairs and maintenance team.

This post provides technical support within our maintenance team, including overseeing projects, contracts and work, with support as appropriate to experience and the grade.

This role will assist our Principal Surveyor in analysing damp and mould data. We are currently handling a large number of Damp, Mould and Condensation cases. This role is vital in responding to new regulatory requirements arising from Awaab's law and the increased levels of reporting.

We're looking for someone that has social housing and/or building maintenance related experience, with good technical knowledge of building construction (Traditional and Non-Traditional Methods) and maintenance and of Health & Safety practices. The successful candidate will be flexible, organised and be able to work well under pressure.

As a member of the Derby Homes Team, you will need to be:

  • Understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Committed to providing excellent customer service and offer technical assistance.
  • Able to use your own initiative and also work as part of a team.
  • Be prepared to move heavy items following appropriate training.
