Job summary

We are seeking a highly organised, customer-focused and proactive individual to support the delivery of the Council’s Damp & Mould and Disrepair Service. This role is responsible for coordinating surveys, repairs and contractor activities, maintaining accurate compliance records, supporting residents throughout the customer journey, and ensuring statutory and regulatory obligations are met. Working closely with residents, contractors and internal teams, you will help prioritise cases, identify and elevate safeguarding concerns, monitor contractor performance, support complaints investigations, and contribute to effective governance and service improvement.

The successful candidate will have experience in housing repairs, maintenance, asset management, compliance or a related customer service environment, with a strong ability to manage high-volume casework and maintain accurate records using housing management systems. An understanding of damp and mould, disrepair, social housing regulation, Awaab's Law, the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act, the Housing Ombudsman Complaint Handling Code and Consumer Standards framework is desirable.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Applicants should hold GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)
  • Should have at least one year's experience within a housing, repairs, maintenance or construction-related environment.
  • We are looking for someone who is resilient, empathetic and professional, with sound judgement and a commitment to continuous learning, service excellence and delivering positive outcomes for residents.
  • You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to manage competing priorities, build positive relationships with residents and stakeholders, and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
