Job summary

Stockport Nub News is seeking a Senior Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician to join a busy workshop in Stockport. You will carry out servicing, repairs, diagnostics and health checks to a high standard as part of a supportive team.

Role offers a full-time permanent contract with a modern workshop, ongoing technical development, and opportunities to grow in a long-established automotive group. Training includes hybrid/EV competencies and advanced diagnostics.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
• Experience working to high technical and quality standards.
• Full and valid UK driving licence.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive and professional approach.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A genuine desire to develop your technical skills.
• Diagnostic, MOT and EV/Hybrid experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out vehicle inspections in line with technical guidelines.
• Completing servicing and routine maintenance.
• Carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Carrying out additional repairs once authorised.
• Completing warranty repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Conducting vehicle health checks.
• Carrying out road tests to confirm repairs have been completed correctly.
• Completing all relevant paperwork to a high standard.
• Working efficiently to agreed productivity and quality targets.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and professional workshop environment.
• Supporting colleagues and contributing to a strong team environment.

Role
