Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician to join a high-performing aftersales team in a premium workshop in the UK. You will handle diagnostics, warranty work and repair tasks to manufacturer standards, with access to OEM training and EV/hybrid accreditation.

The role offers a strong basic salary (£46,295) with £50k+ OTE, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life assurance and a pension, plus lifestyle perks and discounts.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Recognised Diagnostic qualification is desirable.
• Ambition to progress with OEM training including EV/hybrid accreditation.

• Complete EV tasks (if qualified) and hydraulic repairs.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve faults.

The Opportunity - Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician

You'll join a high-performing aftersales team in a well-equipped workshop with 16 ramps and a strong group of 11 experienced Technicians, including long-standing team members with deep product knowledge who are always happy to support.

You'll have access to OEM training, online learning, development programmes and on-site coaching - giving you everything you need to progress through technical levels and stay ahead of the latest technologies, including EV.

What You'll Do

• Carry out complex diagnostic, warranty and repair work to manufacturer standards.
• Complete EV tasks (if qualified) and hydraulic repairs safely and efficiently.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve hard-to-find faults.
• Support Apprentice Technicians with guidance and development.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) plus a recognised Diagnostic qualification.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Diagnostic Technician preferred, though brand-qualified candidates will also be considered.
• Strong teamwork, process discipline and high standards of safety and quality.
• Ambition to progress - ongoing manufacturer training provided, including EV and hybrid accreditation.
