Job summary

Reaseheath College and University Centre is seeking a dedicated Technical Trainer and Coach (Tutor/Assessor) to deliver apprenticeship training and coaching across Teaching and Learning. You will work with employers to ensure apprentices gain knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet sector needs.

The role requires a vocational teaching qualification, substantial education experience, and the ability to manage a busy caseload while maintaining safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant vocational qualification in teaching.
• Have substantial industry experience within education.
• Hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised teaching and/or assessor qualification.
• Demonstrate experience of coaching, mentoring, training, or assessing within a vocational or apprenticeship setting.
• Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills, including experience using electronic portfolio systems.
• Be able to motivate apprentices and build effective working relationships with employers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training in line with the Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship Standard and approved college procedures.
• Lead and support apprentices through a range of practical activities that enhance learning and develop vocational competence.
• Deliver high-quality training, coaching, mentoring, and assessment both within college and through workplace visits to support apprentice progress and evidence gathering.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-informed teaching, adapting approaches and resources to meet the needs of different learners.
• Conduct apprentice recruitment activities, inductions, initial assessments, Apprentice Skills Scans, and calculations of prior learning.
• Monitor and review apprentice progress through regular formal reviews, action planning, and use of electronic portfolio systems to track achievement and 20% off-the-job training requirements.
