Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Technical Surveyor to manage statutory compliance and deliver Technical Hard Services for a local council. This temporary position involves ensuring building safety and regulatory adherence while managing contractor performance. The role requires experience in building surveying and a strong understanding of statutory compliance regulations. Candidates must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. This position is hybrid, requiring 2 days in the office and offers competitive hourly rates.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Council buildings meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and monitor Hard FM services including M&E systems.
• Work closely with external contractors delivering compliance testing and repairs.
• Maintain accurate records, asset data, job tracking and compliance logs.
• Provide technical advice to colleagues and promote safety culture.

Skills

Experience within building surveying, technical services, property compliance

Strong understanding of statutory building compliance

Experience managing or working closely with contractors

Ability to undertake technical inspections

Knowledge of PPM planning and asset management

Strong organisational and reporting skills

Ability to work independently

Education

Relevant surveying or building services qualification (HNC/HND, BTEC, CIOB, etc.)
